Pretty Place Chapel, SC - Mountaintop Microwedding - Asheville Wedding Photographers

Todd called me and asked if I could come down to the famous Pretty Place Chapel, located just inside the South Carolina border. I was excited to help. This special location, perched on the edge of a mountain, truly feels like a dream. As Jazzette walked down the stairs to the sounds of classical music, joy filled the air as Todd saw his bride for the first time. After the ceremony, the couple had their first dance while enjoying the breathtaking views. We also took some incredible photos before they headed back to Brevard for a lovely dinner and time with their close friends. Congratulations, Todd and Jazzette!

What is Pretty Place? As you can see from the photos, it is an incredible chapel for weddings and elopements located near Greenville, SC, and about an hour from Asheville, NC. Constructed in 1941, Fred W. Symmes Chapel, commonly known as "Pretty Place," is part of YMCA Camp Greenville. Mr. Symmes gifted this chapel to the boys and girls who attend the camp each summer, and it serves as the camp’s spiritual center.

Situated in Cleveland, South Carolina, Fred W. Symmes Chapel is an open-air structure perched on Stone Mountain at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fees for private use of Pretty Place Chapel help maintain the area and support the camp's ability to provide scholarships for children who might otherwise miss out on camp experiences due to financial hardships.

Not only is it a beautiful location for a wedding, but choosing to get married there also benefits the kids at YMCA Camp Greenville. You might say it’s pretty awesome! (See what I did there?)
