Black Balsam Knob Elopement with Alyssa and Mike - Asheville Adventure Elopement Photographer

I love hiking and elopements, so I was thrilled when Alyssa and Mike reached out to the studio and asked if I would be interested in going for a hike with them. I suggested one of my favorite spots along the Blue Ridge Parkway, not far from Asheville: Black Balsam Knob. I sent the couple a map pin, and we met for a short hike up the Art Loeb Trail until we found a spot that resonated with them for their vow exchange. They exchanged their vows amid sweeping panoramic views and a refreshing mountain breeze. Afterward, we took some photos along the trail and returned to the forest for a toast to their future together. Cheers, Alyssa and Mike!

Black Balsam Knob is one of my absolute favorite elopement or wedding portrait spots in Western North Carolina! Sometimes called Black Balsam Bald, it sits in Pisgah National Forest southwest of Asheville, North Carolina, near milepost 420 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The summit is a grassy bald with wide, panoramic views. The Art Loeb Trail runs along the grassy ridge of Black Balsam Knob, offering easy access and amazing photo opportunities.

Are you envisioning a wedding amid the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina? We would be thrilled to capture your special day in a relaxed, enjoyable way, highlighting the genuine moments and vibrant colors that make your celebration unique. Our photography blends documentary-style moments with stunning editorial shots, ensuring a beautifully balanced wedding album your family can cherish for generations. We would be honored to be part of your special day and capture the memories you’ll treasure forever!
